Girls names
by FeelingFree inok so i know its not really anything to do with jwness but we are struggling with baby names and really can't think of one we both like.
its getting a bit desperate as i'm due in about 8 weeks .. i'm getting bored of looking at the same old names on the baby names websites so any suggestions would be much appreciated (girls please).. **cash prize for the one we choose!

Congratulations!
I would advise not to use a "popular" name of the decade she is born. Girls born late 50s or early 60s were all Carol, Julie, Susan, Janet, Shirley etc so no matter how young you look you are probably in your mid 50s now.
A name that crosses time is much better.
My girls are Anna, Sarah and Emma. You cannot guess their age by their names. They could be 100 or new borns which is why those names were chosen.
My daughter Anna named her daughter Abbigail. Good name but with double "b". Nothing is available as small named gifts such as pens, notepads, door plaques etc so I would also advise a traditional spelling too. xxx

Accepting I am a bit weird.
Before, being true to myself and staying real was never an option. I was always pretending to be the person I perceived others thought I should be and then trying to maintain that facade.
I have true friends now, you know who you are, a lot being the same group as Cantleave mentioned and none of them push me to do more than I can or be who I am not.
My answer is friends.......and hedgehogs and my dog.

JW Info-Commercial Memorial Service
by William Penwell ini attended a jw memorial service about 2 years ago and the speaker i thought gave a good eulogy to the diseased even though he quoted a few scriptures.
just recently i attended another jw memorial and the sermon was about 10 minutes on the person and the rest a big info-commercial with a scripture quoted one after the other.
i did not keep count but i would think the speaker read about 10 - 12 scriptures.

If they wanted to win people over at a funeral it should be with love and compassion not a full blown sales pitch.
The last JW funeral I was at I felt disgusted at the hypocrisy of it all. If anything it highlighted how cultish they were. I don't know anyone who was so impressed by a funeral they came to a meeting the following Sunday.

Posters do you know of any cases where a devout JW was DF'd for Lesbianism?
by booker-t ini think this is a hush hush topic among jws but i remember years ago at an assembly i saw two sisters(i am only assuming they were jws they could have been studies or relatives of jws) walking arm and arm like a married couple.
some of the jws looked at them like they had horns.
some of the jws moms were covering their small children's eyes and those two women were stared at like they had the plague.

It's my birthday today
by Bruja-del-Sol in... but most of my new (post jw) friends either don't know my birth date (if people don't specifically ask i won't tell them), or they are 2500 kilometers away in the netherlands... so all that's left to celebrate with me are my hubby, the two doggies, cat and my two rabbits... mixed feelings, i miss my friends and family around and haven't found friends in spain yet.
luckily our daughter will visit us the end of the month... and yesterday we've found a new rental house and we're moving into it next month already!
i'm thrilled and really looking forward to it, then we will finally be able to let all the rest of our belongings come to spain (2/3 of our stuff is stored in the netherlands).. so with this in mind, i'll just say 'happy birthday to me' and will enjoy my third birthday in espana .
